I’m a travel and lifestyle blogger based in Okinawa @owncolorstravel, sharing recommended spots and helpful travel tips for anyone visiting Okinawa—whether you’re coming from other parts of Japan or traveling from overseas with an interest in Japanese culture.
In late November, Okinawa’s average temperatures are around 24°C (75°F) during the day and about 17°C (63°F) at night. It’s starting to feel a little chilly for short sleeves, even during the daytime.
Recently, I went out for dinner in Chatan to celebrate my friend’s friend’s birthday. Since my friend loves wine, I booked a restaurant in the area. Chatan has so many stylish restaurants, making it a great place for girls’ nights, date nights, or any special dinner plans.
This time, I want to share a lovely evening at one of those perfect-for-a-special-occasion restaurants: Corrente , the Italian restaurant inside Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort.

Corrente:A Special-Occasion Italian Restaurant at Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort
Location of Italian Restaurant “Corrente”

Italian Restaurant “Corrente” 40-1 Mihama, Chatan-cho, Nakagami-gun, Okinawa Prefecture, 904-0115
The Hilton looks beautiful at night with its blue illumination—just seeing the exterior gives you that luxurious, uplifting feeling. Around this time of year, a Christmas tree is usually displayed in the lobby, which adds even more to the festive mood.
Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort sits right next to American Village in Chatan, a popular resort area in central Okinawa. Inside the hotel, you’ll find “Corrente” on the first floor. From the lobby level (which is actually the third floor), just head downstairs and you’ll see the entrance to the Italian restaurant.

On the same lobby level, there’s also the buffet restaurant “Suriyun,” where guests can enjoy another dining option.

The Atmosphere at Italian Restaurant “Corrente”

Inside “Corrente”, you’ll find not only table seating but also a bar counter and terrace seating. The bar counter has a relaxed, stylish vibe—perfect for enjoying a drink before or after your meal. The terrace, which sits right next to the poolside, is especially charming. On weekend nights around 8 p.m., you can usually catch fireworks from the terrace, making the mood even more romantic.
If you can, try booking your table around that time. It adds a special touch to your evening and makes the whole dining experience feel more memorable. I was still in the middle of dinner, but as soon as the fireworks started, I couldn’t help getting excited and stepped out to the poolside to take some photos!

The Menu
For this dinner, I pre-booked a course that included a glass of sparkling wine for a toast and a special anniversary message plate for the birthday guest. “Corrente” offers several Anniversary Options, making it a great choice for birthdays, anniversaries, or any meaningful celebration with someone special.

We toasted with Moët & Chandon, then ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir to continue the celebration. Two cheers in one night!

The first dish served was “Seared Mackerel with Grilled Eggplant and Inamuruchi Miso Béarnaise.” It paired beautifully with the champagne.
Next came “Norwegian Salmon and Figs with Light Smoked Aroma, Organic Yogurt, and Micro Salad.” The deep red of the figs was stunning and made the dish feel elegant and seasonal.

And then—the bread. It was dangerously good. My friend and I kept eating it nonstop, and before we knew it, we were getting full too fast. Consider this a friendly warning! lol

The dishes were beautifully plated with warm-colored ceramics, making everything visually inviting and elevating our dining mood. Conversations naturally flowed.

Looking around, I noticed couples on dates, married couples celebrating milestones, and international guests enjoying drinks at the bar. The overall atmosphere felt calm, stylish, and very comfortable. The staff were warm and friendly the entire time, and their hospitality made the evening even better.
I had heard mixed reviews from a friend who visited before, so I was a bit curious myself—but as always, you never really know until you experience a place firsthand.
Most importantly, my friend loved it, and that made me happy too.

For dessert, we had “Caramelized Apple Far Breton with Madagascar Vanilla Gelato.” So elegant and grown-up. My friend’s plate came with a sweet, simple birthday message, which was such a thoughtful touch. Truly appreciated.
Summary
How did you like my introduction to “Corrente” the Italian restaurant at Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort? I truly think dinner here is something I can recommend with confidence—especially if you’re looking for an elegant, grown-up atmosphere where you can enjoy a calm, refined evening. It’s perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, or a special night out with someone important.

By the way, the Christmas tree in the photo was actually displayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Chatan, located just across from the Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort.
With Thanksgiving and Christmas approaching, the holiday season is about to get lively and festive. Whether you’re visiting Okinawa for a stay or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, CorRenTe is definitely a great option to keep in mind.
If you’re celebrating something special, I also recommend staying overnight at the resort. You can enjoy a romantic evening by the ocean and wake up to Okinawa’s refreshing morning light—a perfect way to make your celebration even more unforgettable.
