Hello,
Thank you as always for reading my blog.
This blog is run by an Okinawa-based blogger, @owncolorstravel, who shares travel and lifestyle content. Here, I introduce recommended sightseeing spots in Okinawa and overseas, along with tips to help you enjoy your travels more—written for those who simply love to travel.
And now, I’ve started a travel vlog on YouTube.
The name of my YouTube channel is:
【Own Colors Journey】
Why I Started a Travel Vlog on YouTube

For about two and a half years, I’ve been running this blog and sharing the atmosphere, emotions, and small moments I experience while traveling—mainly through photos and words.
Along the way, I gradually began to feel that
there are some things that can only be conveyed through video.
With that in mind, I decided to challenge myself with a new form of expression and share my journeys in a deeper, more immersive way.
When I travel—whether in Okinawa or abroad—I usually take photos and short videos on my smartphone for Instagram. After returning home, I write my blog little by little on my computer during breaks between work.
Now that I’ve become comfortable with writing, I decided to start creating videos on YouTube alongside my blog.
I still truly love writing—it helps me organize my thoughts and ideas.
At the same time, I feel that video has a sense of presence and atmosphere that words alone can’t fully express.
From now on, I hope to share my travel stories by making the most of both platforms—my blog and YouTube—each in its own way.
Not Perfect, but Sharing “The World as I See It”
I’ve tried YouTube before.
Back then, most of my videos focused on myself, and honestly, they were more like “watch me” videos than true vlogs (laughs).
Since starting my blog, I’ve slowly come to understand:
- What I really want to share
- What kind of journeys I want to show
What I value most with this YouTube channel is sharing
“the world as I see it.”
That’s why I chose not to appear on camera or use narration.
Instead, the videos move forward quietly, using only English and Japanese subtitles.
To be honest, video editing is still a process of trial and error, and I have a lot to learn.
But I want to cherish sharing the kind of travel records that only who I am right now can create.

I hope you’ll enjoy watching these videos casually—while having dinner, or whenever you want to relax and feel like you’re taking a small virtual trip.
A New Content Style for My YouTube Channel
Of course, I will continue writing this blog.
Things that can only be expressed through words, as well as practical travel information, will always remain here.
By enjoying both the blog and YouTube together, I think the experience becomes even richer.
For example:
- Real moments of moving from place to place
- Time spent at hotels and airports
- The atmosphere and experiences at each destination
And on YouTube, I also share parts of my thoughts and personal perspectives that I don’t usually write about on the blog.
Travel is not just about going places—it’s also about meaning, feelings, and personal journeys.
That’s why I chose the title “Own Colors Journey.”
Through this channel, I plan to share travel and lifestyle videos from both Japan and abroad, focusing on these kinds of moments.
Vlog Equipment
For my YouTube videos, I chose to use an action camera.
Its waterproof feature makes it easy to use at Okinawa’s beaches and during my travels, which was a big plus.
I’m also trying POV (point-of-view) filming.
Some scenes in the videos are shot directly from my perspective, so I hope you’ll enjoy noticing those moments too.
About the YouTube Channel “Own Colors Journey”
【Own Colors Journey】is a YouTube channel focused on travel and lifestyle.
I’ve already uploaded several videos, so I’d be happy if you’d take a look.
If you enjoy the content, subscribing to the channel would mean a lot to me and keep me motivated.
I’ll continue sharing both my blog and videos, hoping you can enjoy them together.
Thank you very much for your continued support.
