About Hotel Nikko Narita

Hotel Nikko Narita

Mid-November Weather: Narita 15°C / 3°C (It definitely feels chilly this time of year!)

Since I had an international flight departing from Narita the next evening, I looked for a convenient hotel for an overnight stay.

I chose Hotel Nikko Narita because they offer a free shuttle bus to and from the airport throughout the day and also had a plan that allowed me to earn JAL miles. And honestly—this hotel turned out to be the perfect choice.

Just 5 minutes from Terminal 2, Bus Stop 33, via the airport shuttle

The shuttle is also great if you want to head back to the airport for dinner. I actually skipped the hotel restaurants at night and rode the shuttle back to the terminal to eat.

・Inside the Hotel

Hotel Nikko Narita

When I arrived at the lobby, it was beautifully decorated for Christmas—festive and cozy.

I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a room with an airweave bed during check-in. My first impression of the hotel was how international it felt. There were so many guests from overseas that I barely heard any Japanese! (Narita and Haneda really do feel like global hubs these days.)

Most guests seemed to be using the hotel for transit.

Welcome Drink

At check-in, I received a welcome drink ticket that could be used at several spots inside the hotel. I chose to use mine at the 11th-floor Sky Bar “Sunset Lounge,” where wine is also an option.

The lounge has a calm, slightly nostalgic vibe, and it was lovely to unwind while enjoying the night view. A relaxing moment before the trip begins.

Room Tour

My room was simple, efficient, and comfortable. Room types range from standard to suite, so you can pick what suits you best. I had a distant view of the airport from my window.

The airweave mattress pad was a highlight. Its supportive firmness made for a great night’s sleep. Since top athletes use this brand to optimize their sleep quality, it’s a great option for anyone who values good rest—even at home.

Other Facilities

There’s a “Lawson” convenience store attached to the hotel—super helpful because there aren’t many stores around unless you go back to the airport. It’s open 24 hours, and I think international guests will enjoy experiencing a Japanese convenience store.

There are also several dining options, including a coffee lounge and the Chinese restaurant “Tôri.” Great choices if you prefer dining in.

The hotel was fully decorated for the holidays, which definitely lifted my mood. There’s also a large garden, and I enjoyed a refreshing morning walk after breakfast. In summer, the hotel pool is open, and I even spotted persimmons growing on the trees.

Breakfast is served at Serena, a bright and spacious dining room facing the garden. The buffet selection is huge—you’ll have no problem fueling up for your travels.

One unique feature was the supplement station, where you can choose the vitamins you need. And since I wasn’t expecting to have much Japanese food at my destination, I enjoyed a full Japanese-style breakfast before heading out.

Japanese hotel breakfasts always impress me with their quality. I usually don’t eat breakfast at home, but waking up early and enjoying a hotel buffet has definitely become one of my favorite travel rituals.

I’d love to stay here again on my next Narita trip. Having the time to enjoy breakfast while looking out at the sunny garden made staying the night before the flight completely worth it.

And the best part? Despite today’s rising hotel prices, this hotel still offers great value for the level of service and comfort.

Hotel Nikko Narita is an excellent transit hotel—comfortable, convenient, and well worth recommending.

Next up, I’ll be sharing my walk through the Narita Airport terminals, the JAL lounge, and then we’ll move on to the overseas part of the trip.
