The temperature in Okinawa has dropped quickly, and the Christmas mood is settling in.
In my latest blog post, I’ll be introducing a steakhouse in Chatan Town with a stunning sunset view, perfect for year-end family outings or a romantic Christmas date for couples.
・BLUE OCEAN STEAK

Recently, I celebrated a friend’s birthday who had been craving steak. We found a restaurant in Okinawa that offers not only great food but also a scenic view, perfect for special occasions.
BLUE OCEAN STEAK is a seaside steakhouse located in the Fisherina district of Chatan Town, Central Okinawa.
Located right next to the East China Sea, BLUE OCEAN STEAK is best enjoyed during sunset or around 8 p.m. on Saturdays when fireworks light up the sky. The atmosphere? It feels like you’re in Waikiki!
It had been a while since I last had steak, so my excitement kicked in the moment I stepped through the entrance.
The interior has the relaxed vibe of a restaurant attached to a resort hotel, with a spacious, circular waiting area near the register, creating an open and airy atmosphere.
The crowd seemed to be mostly families with kids, both locals and tourists. However, once seated, I noticed a fair number of couples dining as well.
Ordering is done via tablet, but you can also place your order directly with the staff if you prefer.
The restaurant is spacious, with enough distance between tables to provide a sense of privacy. Once seated, I found it more peaceful than I had expected, making it easy to enjoy the meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were also very friendly and attentive.
We started with a glass of champagne to kick off the celebration.
Although the menu includes seafood options, the highlight here is the steak course, where you can choose your preferred cut—tongue, Wagyu, filet, or sirloin.
We opted for the Special Dinner Course, which includes a main steak and seven side dishes. For the steak, we went all out with the A5 marbled Wagyu.
The course began with a rich potage soup, followed by a fresh appetizer salad. The aburi sushi can be ordered separately, and it’s highly recommended to sprinkle a touch of salt on it for a more defined flavor—delicious!
We ordered a bottle of Italian red wine to pair with our meal.
As for Pinot Noir, the only option on the menu was a California variety.
The course also included a small bowl of shabu-shabu, adding to the variety. The steak was served on a plate with mashed potatoes and sauce, allowing us to enjoy the marbled steak to its fullest.
Since it was my friend’s birthday, I had pre-ordered a birthday plate. Instead of a grand surprise, it was quietly brought to the table, which created a calm and peaceful atmosphere—just what my friend appreciated.
Okinawa was already in a Christmas mood, and the Christmas tree in the restaurant perfectly added to the celebratory vibe. Above all, seeing my friend so happy was the highlight of the evening.
While Okinawa has many places where you can enjoy steak, for special occasions, it’s nice to sit down with someone important in a refined, luxurious setting and savor a meal in such a memorable way.
