As a resort-loving Okinawa-based travel and lifestyle blogger @owncolorstravel, I share travel tips and must-visit spots in Okinawa—especially for visitors coming from outside the prefecture or international travelers interested in Japanese culture.
While my blog features many resort hotels across Okinawa, this time I’m shining a spotlight on one of their biggest highlights: the hotel pools.
If you’re planning a trip to Okinawa, I hope this guide helps spark your imagination—maybe you’ll find a pool that instantly gives you that dream resort vibe and makes you want to book a stay right away!

Okinawa Hotel Pool Guide: Naha Area
・HOTEL STRATA NAHA

Hotel Strata Naha 1-19-8 Makishi, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture 900-0013
Hotel Strata Naha: A Relaxing Garden Pool Oasis in the Heart of Okinawa’s Capital
Located in the heart of Okinawa’s main city, Naha, Hotel Strata Naha offers guests access to its exclusive GARDEN POOL, tucked away in a lush courtyard. Despite being in the city, the space is thoughtfully designed with greenery all around, creating a peaceful, resort-like escape from the urban buzz.
The pool isn’t huge, but it features a 14-meter outdoor swimming pool and a kids’ pool, perfect for a quick dip or a lazy afternoon. Surrounded by trees that naturally provide shade, it stays cool and breezy—ideal for relaxing.
The pool is open seasonally from April through the end of October, with hours from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, exclusively for hotel guests.

During the summer months, especially from mid-June to mid-September, outdoor pools in Okinawa can get quite warm under the strong sun—sometimes feeling more like a lukewarm bath. That’s why early morning swims or semi-indoor pools can be a more refreshing choice during this season.
Since Hotel Strata Naha is easily accessible from the airport without needing a rental car, it’s a great option for travelers looking to enjoy urban resort vibes while exploring Naha, sightseeing, or enjoying the city’s nightlife with ease.

・Uruma area
・Coco Garden Resort Okinawa

Coco Garden Resort Okinawa 501 Ishikawa Inami, Uruma City, Okinawa Prefecture 904-1115
Located in Uruma City, Coco Garden Resort Okinawa is a hillside resort that offers beautiful views and a lush, garden-inspired atmosphere. The property features a uniquely curved garden pool surrounded by greenery, creating a peaceful tropical setting.
I stayed here during the winter while scouting for an apartment before moving to Okinawa, so it’s been a while—but I recently learned that in the summer season, they offer complimentary mineral water and fresh-cut fruit poolside, both in the morning and afternoon. It sounds like the perfect way to unwind and soak up the island resort vibes.
・Yomitan area
As you make your way to Yomitan Village, you’ll find more and more resort hotels with direct access to private beaches. Unlike the busy streets of Naha City, this area offers a peaceful and nature-rich setting, perfect for a quiet and relaxing stay.

If you’re looking to escape the city and unwind to the sound of ocean waves, this is the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing beach resort experience in Okinawa.

Centrally located on Okinawa’s main island, Onna is a convenient base for exploring both the northern and southern regions, making it an ideal choice for a well-balanced and scenic resort stay.
The Moon Beach Museum Resort

The Moon Beach Museum Resort 〒904-0414 1203 Maeganeku, Onnason, Kunigami-gun, Okinawa
One of my personal favorite resort hotel pools in Onna Village is at The Moon Beach Museum Resort.
This tropical resort features two unique pools: the outdoor infinity-style “Lagoon Pool” and the semi-outdoor “Atrium Pool.” The semi-outdoor pool stays comfortably cool even in the summer heat, making it a great place to swim and unwind. In the winter, it’s heated—allowing guests to enjoy a resort-like experience year-round.
Surrounded by lush palm trees that enhance the tropical vibe, the poolside itself feels like a true escape. From the infinity pool, you can gaze out at a private beach lined with umbrellas, and relax in the shade on a deck chair while soaking up the ocean breeze.
It’s a casual yet relaxing pool experience that’s also perfect for solo travelers looking to enjoy Okinawa at their own pace.

Right in front of the hotel is a natural beach with soft white sand and calm waters, ideal for peaceful walks and sunset views.
For a luxurious yet affordable stay, we recommend the Poolside Twin Room, which allows you to step directly into the pool from your room. Imagine waking up and diving straight into the water—resort life doesn’t get much better than that.
While the pool isn’t large, it’s just right for solo travelers or guests who prefer a quieter experience. Plus, with the beach just steps away, it’s easy to go back and forth between the pool and the ocean for a truly relaxing stay.

As part of the renewal, the garden pool was completely redesigned and upgraded. While the images shown may feature the previous design, they still give you a sense of the pool’s incredible scale—stretching an impressive 170 meters in length.

After sunset, the entire pool area is beautifully lit up, creating a magical nighttime atmosphere—perfect for those who want to avoid sun exposure but still enjoy a swim.
Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, day-use access is available, making it a great choice for locals living in Okinawa who want a premium resort experience without booking a room.

Without proper protection, you could end up with skin damage or fatigue that takes away from your trip. Be sure to come prepared, and don’t forget: sunscreen is an absolute must!
